How to Apply Make-up
If you know how to apply make-up properly, you will always look your best. This includes choosing the right types of make-up. Besides learning how to apply make-up properly, you should know what colors look better for your complexion and what products suit your skin type.
Learning how to apply make-up doesn’t have to be a challenge if you know the right techniques. Women usually make two common errors when the apply make-up. They apply the wrong color or use too much make-up. These two mistakes distract from your appearance. The wrong colors make you look as though you are ready for the circus.
Choose the right colors. Fair skin tones look best with pastel colors like pink or lilac. Warm skin tones benefit from orange and gold hues. Reds and bold colors are more suited for brunettes and dark skin tones. Use make-up sparingly. Apply enough for a natural shine.
The first step in learning how to apply makeup is covering up flaws. This can be done with concealer. Concealers hide blemishes, under eye circles, and other flaws. These can improve the over-all appearance of your face. Do not stretch the skin as you apply concealer. Apply concealer with alight dabbing motion. You can buy concealer in stick creams, powders, and bottles.
The next step in learning how to apply make-up is putting on foundation. Foundation comes in powder, ream, and thin liquid forms. Foundation isn’t a necessity but it will help you cover up any flaws and blemishes. To apply foundation make-up use a wedge or your fingers. Start from the nose and work up toward the temples. Blend foundation well so lines won’t show.
How do you like them apples? The next step in how to apply make-up is blush. Blush comes in so many varieties and colors. The most popular blush is powder followed by sticks and creams. Use a color that matches your skin tone. Apply with an angled brush if you are using powder and apply blush on the apples of your cheeks. Blend the make-up in with another brush. Make certain the blush is well- blended and no powder shows in the hairline. Pinks shades work best for light skin tones and dark hues for darker skin. s
One of the most fun lessons while learning how to apply make-up is eye-shadow. Eye-shadow is fun if you experiment with different colors. Experiment with different shades until you find the right one. Start at the corner of the eyelid and work your way out. You may use the applicator that came with the compact or a brush that resembles a small paintbrush. An effective eye-shadow technique is to apply a lighter shade on the top of you eyelid and blend together. You may use several colors as long as you blend them in well.
Next, you will learn how to apply mascara and eye-liner. Use clean applicators and never lick eyeliner. Do not apply eye-liner on the inner eye lid. You can buy eye-liner in various shades in liquid tubes or pencil form. It is easier to work with pencil eye liners. Mascara also comes in several colors. For maximum effect on droopy eyelids, use an eyelash curler. If you have watery eyes or allergies, use water-proof mascara.
The last step in how to apply make-up is lipstick. A general rule is not to go too bright with pale skin. Remove all make-up before going to bed so pores won’t get clogged with oil. Throw away expired make-up.
