I’m trying out some eye shadow for the first time and I need help!?
Okay, I checked youtube and found out some things. My budget for this is around 20-35 dollars. (which i know is not possible but really wish it could be. *fingers crossed*)
I need a base/primer. I have normal/dry lids and I need something cheap.
I don’t know much about the eye shadow tools. I think I’ll be good with some ELF brushes which I know are a dollar or two. Do I need a wide range of sizes and brushes? Any youtube videos that can help?
Most importantly I need eyeshadow. I like dark colors. Are there any specific palettes that I can use. I don’t need that big of a set of colors, just black(of course fave color), some hues of purple, dark blues, red.
Any tips will be nice! I’m a tomboyish type that’s trying to at least make an effort to look like a girl. So yeah, help will be nice.
Concealer also works as a primer, but make sure to get one that is close to your skin tone. Elf brushes work even though they are cheap. I swear by them, so those are a good choice. You don’t need very many different sized brushes. For the eyes all you really need is a fluffy brush since it works generally with all styles and eyeshadow. If you are tomboyish and you want to look girly, I don’t recommend using dark colors. I would recommend that you stick to natural colors like light browns and greens. you want something that will compliment your eye color and bring out your natural beauty. the whole point of make up is to bring out what you already have. the best advice I can give is to not wear too much make up. Just a little bit can go a long way. So sticking to powder or tinted moisturizer (if you need to even out your skin tone) and light natural shades of eyeshadow, and some black or brown mascara will be just the right amount.
Here are some good tutorials from youtube:
